Wisconsin Defense Report 11/12/2012: Hurricane Sandy Update

Wisconsin National Guard Readied To Assist With Hurricane Sandy

Immediately following the storm, the Wisconsin National Guard stood ready to assist civilian authorities supporting Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in the impacted regions. Wisconsin Guard members have been identified to provide support if requested as part of a FEMA Region V ground task force.

DOD Hurricane Sandy Response Update

The Department of Defense remains fully engaged in the ongoing federal disaster response efforts under way in the eastern and northeastern United States as a result of Hurricane Sandy. The department is focused on providing unique capabilities to support civilian efforts to restore power to vital facilities and to assist with the resumption of mass transit services in the New York and New Jersey area.
