For those of you who keep track of such things, if Julius Caesar had heeded the soothsayer, the “Ides (or middle of the month) of March” would have passed into forgotten Roman history. And no one would know the phrase “Et tu, Brute.” To recount, Julius Caesar was murdered on this day in 44 B.C.
