While the White House and Republican leaders continue to disagree about spending and revenue, “key committees in the House and now the Senate have launched a bipartisan campaign to lay the groundwork for a comprehensive rewrite of the tax code,” The Washington Post reports. On Thursday, the Senate Finance Committee held the first of roughly a dozen private meetings on the tax code.
