The New York Times reports that “President Obama may use his State of the Union address next month to push for major immigration reform legislation that provides a path to citizenship for most of the illegal immigrants living in the United States, instead of a series of smaller bills that may more palatable to Republicans. THE DEMOGRAPHIC CLIFF: IMMIGRATION Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida detailed his own sweeping plan with the Wall Street Journal editorial board. One obvious difference between the two is that Obama is seeking a comprehensive bill, while Rubio prefers a step-by-step approach, but says he won’t draw a “line in the sand.”
