Obama Will Push For Comprehensive Immigration Overhaul

The New York Times reports that “President Obama may use his State of the Union address next month to push for major immigration reform legislation that provides a path to citizenship for most of the illegal immigrants living in the United States, instead of a series of smaller bills that may more palatable to Republicans. THE DEMOGRAPHIC CLIFF: IMMIGRATION Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida detailed his own sweeping plan with the Wall Street Journal editorial board. One obvious difference between the two is that Obama is seeking a comprehensive bill, while Rubio prefers a step-by-step approach, but says he won’t draw a “line in the sand.”
