New Rules Give Health Insurers Clarity

It was a clarifying day for the insurance industry on Tuesday, as the Obama administration released long-awaited regulations about how health insurance products must be designed and sold under the Affordable Care Act in 2014. The regulations spell out the benefits that all new individual and small-group plans must include. They also limit the ability to vary prices according to customers’ age and health histories. THE WAITING GAME FOR REGULATIONS ISN’T OVER State officials, health-related industries, and employers are still waiting on lots of other rules they need to move ahead with health reform implementation.
