Immigration Reform

Fully 72% of Americans support a “path to citizenship” that would allow undocumented immigrants a chance to become legal residents, according to a new Gallup Poll. In addition, 71% agree that the number of visas given to high-skilled foreigners should be increased; 68% favored beefed-up border security; and 85% agreed that employers should be required to verify that new hires are living in the United States legally. CANTOR ON IMMIGRATION “House Majority Leader Eric Cantor at an afternoon address at the American Enterprise Institute seemed to offer a softer tone on immigration, and a possible path toward citizenship for children of illegal immigrants who were brought here as youngsters—the so-called Dream Act,” The Huffington Post reports.
