The Fix writes, “The events of the past nine days have exposed a Republican generational divide as revealing as any rift in the party. “The GOP of old has grown stale and moss-covered,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said in his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (C-PAC) on Thursday. “I don’t think we need to name any names here, do we?” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) offered “markedly different messages” in “back-to-back speeches” yesterday. “Rubio said it was ‘a foolish notion’ to talk of infighting” among conservatives. (Wall Street Journal). MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT IN CPAC HISTORY(?) was in 1985 when newly-reelected President Ronald Reagan declared, “The tide of history is moving irresistibly in our direction. Why? Because the other side is virtually bankrupt of ideas.” WHAT NOT TO WEAR Adrienne Royer, an attendee at CPAC, has a list of sartorial do’s and don’ts for the conservative confab. Among the don’ts: halter tops, t-shirts, ‘dressy’ shorts, leggings, and Uggs. Among the do’s – dress slacks, ballet flats, golf shirts, loafers, and khakis.
