NJ writes, “House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-VA, announced Wednesday the House will consider legislation next week, sponsored by Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-FL, that would overturn Obama’s Dec. 27 executive order giving small raises — about 0.5% — to people who work for the federal government, including in Congress. (As part of the fiscal-cliff deal passed at the beginning of this year, though, Congress eliminated the part that applied to themselves.) In a statement Wednesday, Cantor said the order will cost taxpayers $11 billion. The bill will likely pass the House, but it’s not expected to gain traction in the Senate unless it’s attached to must-pass legislation. Meanwhile, federal employee unions oppose it.”
