Dole’s Appearance Fails To Help Disabilities Bill

Former Sen. Bob Dole’s presence on the Senate floor to help pass ratification of the U.N. disabilities treaty is still the buzz of the Capitol. The Republican from Kansas, in a wheelchair and accompanied by his wife, former Sen. Elizabeth Dole, came to the floor before the vote began, as Politico reports. It was defeated on a 61-38 vote.
