the legislation is not expected to pass the full Senate, the Senate Judiciary Committee narrowly passed a ban on military-style assault weapons, Reuters reports. On a party-line vote, Democrats on the panel approved a bill to outlaw the sale of such weapons and limit high-capacity ammunition clips to 10 bullets.

– “I’m not a sixth-grader,” said Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., in response to a question posed by Cruz about the ban’s constitutionality.
