Appointed

President Obama tapped attorney MARY JO WHITE to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission and re-nominated RICHARD CORDRAY to serve as the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (who was promoted to the position last year with a recess appointment). Sen. Mike Crapo (R-UT), ranking member of Senate Banking, continued to voice his opposition to Cordray, calling the appointment “premature.” TODAY is Treasury Secretary Geithner’s last day.
