Grants for Non-Profits for Energy Efficiency Upgrades

Sens. John Hoeven (R-ND) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) have introduced legislation setting up a grant program for nonprofit groups to retrofit their buildings with energy-efficiency improvements. The bill sets up a pilot program under DOE with grants up to “an amount equal to 50 percent of the energy-efficiency improvement; and … $200,000,” according to the bill. It appropriates $50 million annually through 2016.
